Center for Resource Conservation

The Center for ReSource Conservation, formerly the Boulder Energy Conservation Center (BECC), was founded in 1976 by a group of community-minded citizens seeking ways to help reduce our dependence on non-renewable resources. The organization has since developed extensive expertise in the areas of green building, renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation.  Their goal objective is to provide programs and services that empower individuals to turn natural resource conservation beliefs into action in their daily lives. www.conservationcenter.org

City of Boulder Green Points

The City of Boulder has been a pioneer in green building since 1980, when the Energy Options Points program, the predecessor to the city’s Green Points program, was first implemented.  Since then, green building has gained momentum throughout Boulder County and around the world.  The purpose of the Green Points program is to require builders and homeowners to adopt green building practices locally.  In addition, the program has become a model for other communities interested in enhancing quality of life and reducing the environmental impacts of the local building stock.   www.bouldergreenpoints.com
